Have you ever been told you are “lazy,” “crazy,” “good-for-nothing,” “looser,” “stupid,” and more … and perhaps you believe you feel you fit in those words or you believe what others define you. Defining others can be very destructive. Even when the definitions are positive, like “you are the best that has happened to me,” or “you are my muse,” can lead to a fantasy image that may become an entry door for abuse when we don’t comply with that image.

It might be difficult to ignore those external definitions of us, but ultimately we are our own identity and we must be the only ones with the power to define ourselves. When we define ourselves, we give room to opportunities and new discoveries. Don’t let other people put you in a box where you don’t belong!
